Delete your account and data

This page explains how to request deletion of your Etchimaths account and associated data. It covers every Etchimaths app published by Etchiworks INC., whatever the level or education system, and the etchimaths.com website.

You do not need to install the app to make this request.

How to request deletion

  • From the app: open Settings and choose the account-deletion option (for example "Delete my account and subscriptions"). A pre-filled email opens; send it without changing it.
  • Without the app: email support@etchimaths.com with the subject "Delete my account", from the email address of your account, giving your username, the app concerned and your country. The button above prepares this message for you.
  • Never send your password.

What happens next

  • We may ask you to confirm your identity, for example by replying from the account's email address, so that nobody else can delete your account.
  • We process your request and confirm the deletion within 30 days.
  • Deletion is permanent: we cannot restore your account or your history.

What we delete

  • Your account: email address, name, username, country, role and school, and your hashed password.
  • Your profile photo.
  • Your study history and statistics (papers, scores, durations), and your Simulation-page history on the website.
  • Your session data (session identifier, device, IP address, approximate country and city).
  • Your access rights and subscriptions. Any remaining subscription time is lost and non-refundable, as set out in the terms of use.
  • Your community sign-ups and teacher applications linked to the account.

What we may keep

  • Certain billing records (invoice and receipt numbers, amounts and dates) where our accounting or legal obligations require it.
  • Residual copies in our backups, for a limited time before they are overwritten.

Good to know before deleting

  • One Etchimaths account is used across several of our apps (other subjects or levels) and on the etchimaths.com website. Deleting the account deletes it everywhere.
  • You can also erase just your Simulation history, without deleting the account, from the History tab of your profile on the website.
  • If you only want to sign out, use "Déconnexion" (Sign out) in the profile; that deletes nothing.
